Coral, as a mayor you are in a unique position to address the questions around canvassing: do you foresee canvassing in the Fall? how will we know when it is appropriate to send out canvassers? what will be post-COVID best practices for canvassing?
Scott
53:25
Fabulous presentation, Coral, very heartfelt and impressive.
Phyllis
53:27
What is the R competition? And what is being done to encourage vote by mail?
Sonia Sinton-Clark
56:07
Hi Phyllis, Arizona has a Permanent Early Voter List (PEVL) so anyone can sign up to vote by mail. most of our districts are 70-90% on PEVL. We ask everyone to sign-up and many of the counties have sent out applications to those not on PEVL
Sonia Sinton-Clark
57:13
There is a primary for the R state house rep for LD6
Katherine Yelle
58:10
@Don, this is Coral's district manager, as far as canvassing we're monitoring the situation and waiting for a decline in cases, but as far a LD6 is concerned we're very close to the Navajo Nation which has a horrific outbreak. So we keep a close eye on that as well.
Dana Bellwether
58:12
Don: I'm keeping my mask on 'til I'm vaccinated. In February, the CDC predicted that it would likely be 18 months to two years before there's a vaccine. Once there is a vaccine, two-thirds of the population has to get immunized before we achieve herd immunity. So I anticipate celebrating the advent of the new normal on about Valentine's Day of 2023.
Sonia Sinton-Clark
58:23
there are 2 state house seats and 1 state sentate seat in each district

thank you Jeff

80% of AZ voters already vote by mail and county recorders are doing mailings to get folks on the vote by mail list. The Mark Kelly campaign is also calling everyone who is not on the vote by mail list. The vote by mail numbers are even higher in LD6.
Feng
01:03:07
To both candidates: What have been your actions in office to address the top concerns in your district? Any top past examples that prove that you'd continue doing this if you win this election?
wendy
01:03:34
For Coral - what environmental issue is most important to voters in your District?
Coral Evans
01:04:02
@Wendy Water.
Coral Evans
01:04:39
There have been lawsuits in my district going back to 1960 regarding water and access to water. There are parts of my district that does not have running water.
Betsy
01:05:30
COVID has created unknown stresses on the economy, and CA has proposed huge cuts to education. What ideas do you have to improve education while the budget is in shambles?
Jill Punches
01:05:45
wow! I can’t imagine not having access to water.
Anne Frahn
01:05:55
Hi there, Are either of your campaigns doing any post carding?
Sonia Sinton-Clark
01:06:11
It is a big issue in the Navajo Nation,
Sonia Sinton-Clark
01:06:48
Hi Anne, you know we have letters ;)
ksalkoskas
01:07:09
To both Coral and Jennifer, thank you for your time tonight. As we think about the rapid changes brought on by C-19, how do you think about creating "a new normal" recognizing that niether shut down nor being fully open are viable options as stand alone strategies. Broad question, but I think this will be key as we head into the elections.
ksalkoskas
01:07:44
PS forgive the typo - neither not neither.

We’ve heard that Independents are going to be a big factor in AZ. elections. What issues are most compelling to Independents?
suzmc
01:12:41
Arizona is no longer the Old West yet our gun laws don't reflect that; they're extremely weak. This is a public health issue, so how do the candidates plan to address it?
Sonia Sinton-Clark
01:13:13
Hi Cindy, about 1/3 of Arizona voters are no party preference. we are reaching out to them in our phone banking. we have scores for who leans Dem
Dana Bellwether
01:13:49
Great but very sad.
Sonia Sinton-Clark
01:15:50
Guns are a tricky topic in Arizona, there are a shooting just this last week. Luckily, Mark Kelly is very strong on gun sense
Feng
01:16:14
Thanks Coral. What was your role in making those programs happen? Would love to be able to talk about your actions!

Deborah Howard
01:24:12

Dana Bellwether

Sorry--forgot to change the recipient. Even those who have done real crimes--like murder, rape, child abuse--could go home if they had support--therapy, maybe meds, etc..
Scott
01:26:53
Jennifer, why do you emphasize talking to GOP women, is it not useful talking to GOP men?
Scott
01:27:11
And if so, why?
